Colorimetric

Useful in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of diseases involving the liver, kidney, or bone marrow, as well as other metabolic or nutritional disorders.

Specimen Requirements

 

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

Serum

Serum Gel Tube

Container/Tube: Serum gel tube(s)
Specimen Volume: 2 mL (minimum volume: 1 mL) of serum-Grossly hemolyzed specimen is not acceptable.

Collection Instructions: Spin down within 4 hours of draw.

Note: Label specimen appropriately (serum).

Serum

Plain, Red-Top Tube

Container/Tube: Plain, red-top tube(s)
Specimen Volume: 2 mL (minimum volume: 1 mL) of serum-Grossly hemolyzed specimen is not acceptable.

Plasma

Container/Tube: Green-top (lithium heparin) tube(s)
