Viral Tissue Culture/Shell Vial Assay

Useful for ruling out cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in transplant patients.

Call Kalispell Regional Medical Center Laboratory at 406-752-1737 for instructions prior to drawing specimen.

Specimen must arrive at reference laboratory within 24 hours of draw.

Container/Tube: Lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s)

Specimen Volume: 10 mL (minimum volume: 7 mL) of whole blood

Monday through Thursday

An interpretive report will be provided.
