General Information:
Useful for the evaluation of pregnancy-induced hypertension.
Specimen Requirements
Serum or plasma and whole blood are required for this test.
Blood for CBC
Specimen must arrive within 24 hours of draw.
Container/Tube: Lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s) with HemogardTM lid or lavender MICROTAINER®
Specimen Volume: 3 mL (minimum volume: 1 mL/pediatric: 0.5 mL) of whole blood-Clotted or hemolyzed specimen is not acceptable.
Collection Instructions: Invert tube(s) several times to mix blood. Do not centrifuge. Forward promptly in original tube(s).
Note: Label specimen appropriately (blood for CBC).
Blood for Chemistries
Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

Specimen Volume: 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of
serum
Collection Instructions: Fasting specimen is recommended. Fill tube(s) completely. Keep specimen tightly capped. Protect specimen from light. Spin down within 1 hour of draw.

Plain, Red-Top Tube
Container/Tube: Plain, red-top tube(s)
