Methodology
Loop-mediated amplification (LAMP)
Specimen Requirements
Submit only 1 of the following specimens:
Throat Swab
Container/Tube: M4 culture transport medium
Specimen Volume: Entire specimen
Specimen Collection:
1. Sample collection should be performed in accordance with KRH guidelines for collection of clinical respiratory specimens. Swab sample(s) should be collected with suitable swab types (e.g. Cotton, Foam, Flocked Nylon, Polyester or Rayon).
2. Place swab(s) in M4-RT transport medium and transport to the laboratory. Samples should be held at 2-27°C during transport.
Note: Specimen source is required.
Nasopharyngeal Swab
Container/Tube: M4 culture transport medium
