Useful for assessing the potential for early onset of nephropathy in diabetic patients.

Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube: Plastic urine container

Specimen Volume: 5 mL (minimum volume: 1 mL) from a well-mixed, 24-hour urine collection-Specimen visibly contaminated with blood is not acceptable.

Collection Instructions: No preservative. Refrigerate specimen during collection.

Note: 1. Starting and ending times of collection and total volume are required.

2. Follow instructions in “Urine Collection, 24-Hour” in Special Instructions.
