Methodology
Colorimetric
Useful for monitoring therapy of patients with bipolar disorders, including recurrent episodes of mania and depression; and evaluating toxicity.
Specimen Requirements
Submit only 1 of the following specimens:
Preferred:
Serum
Serum Gel Tube (SST)
Container/Tube: Serum gel tube(s)
Specimen Volume: 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of SERUM
Hemolyzed specimen is not acceptable.
Collection Instructions: Draw blood just prior to next dose, or at least 8 to 12 hour after last dose. Spin down within 4 hours of draw.
Note:
- Date and time of last dose and time of draw are required.
- Label specimen appropriately (serum).
Alternate:
Serum
Plain, Red-Top Tube
Container/Tube: Plain, red-top tube(s)
Specimen Volume: 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of SERUM
