Specimen Requirements

ANTI-HDV

Preferred:

Plain, Red-Top Tube

Container/Tube: Plain red-top tube (Serum gel tube acceptable, but must be poured off into plastic vial).

Specimen Volume: 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of serum

Collection Instructions: Spin down and pour off into plastic tube.

Specimen Stability: Ambient (Frozen-30 days/Refrigerated-14 days)

Note: Label specimen appropriately (serum).

 

ANTI-HBE

Preferred:

Serum Gel Tube

Container/Tube: Serum gel tube
Specimen Volume: 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of serum

Collection Instructions: Spin down and immediately remove serum from clot.

Specimen Stability: Frozen (Refrigerated-7 days/Ambient-24 hours)

Note: Label specimen appropriately (serum).

 

HBEAG

Preferred:
Serum Gel Tube
Container/Tube:
Serum gel tube

Specimen Volume: 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of serum

Collection Instructions: Spin down and immediately remove serum from clot.

Specimen Stability: Frozen (Refrigerated-7 days/Ambient-24 hours)

Note: Label specimen appropriately (plasma).

 

HEPBQN

Preferred:

Serum Gel Tube

Container/Tube:  Serum gel tube

Submission Container/Tube: Polypropylene vial (Supply T465)

Specimen Volume: 1.5 mL (minimum volume: 0.80 mL) of serum

Collection Instructions: 1. Spin down and separate serum from gel within 6 hours of draw.

                                         2. Freeze specimen immediately, and ship frozen on dry ice.

                                         3. If shipment will be delayed for >24 hours, freeze specimen at -70° C (up to 35 days)

                                             until shipment on dry ice.

Specimen Stability: Frozen
