Test Code HCVREFLEX HEPATITIS C AB WITH PCR REFLEX
Methodology
Chemiluminescent Immunoassay
If anti-HCV is positive, Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) RNA Detection and Quantitation by Real-Time Reverse Transcription-PCR reflex testing (HCVQN) will be performed at an additional charge. If HCV RNA levels are ≥ 500 IU/mL, HCV genotype testing (HCVGEN) will be performed at an additional charge.
Specimen Requirements
Specimen must be separated within 6 hours of the draw and refrigerated for < 24 hours.
Specimen Type: Serum-Plasma is not acceptable.
Container/Tube: Serum gel-Plain, red-top tube is not acceptable.
Specimen Volume (Preferred): 4.5 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 2.1 mL
