Specimen Requirements

• Submit only 1 of the following specimens.
• Specimen Source is required.
• Specimen must arrive at Inform Diagnostics within 48 hours of collection.

Bone Marrow

     Container/Tube: Lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s) preferred. Green-top (sodium heparin) tube(s) ok.

     Specimen Volume: 2 to 3mLs bone marrow preferred

     Collection Instructions: Ambient
 

Effusion

     Container/Tube: RPML

     Specimen Volume: Representative Fluid

     Collection Instructions:

       1. Remove representative specimen from well-mixed effusion collection.

       2. May need to use multiple RPMI for the volume. 30mLs preferred.

       3. Mix well.

     Collection Instructions: Refrigerate
 

Fine-Needle Aspirate

    Container/Tube: RPML

    Specimen Volume: Representative tissue

Fresh Tissue
