Methodology

Two-point Rate

Urine creatinine, in conjunction with serum creatinine, is used to calculate the creatinine clearance (a measure of renal function).

Container/Tube: Plastic urine container

Specimen Volume: 10 mL from a well-mixed, 24-hour urine collection

Collection Instructions: No preservative. Refrigerate specimen during collection.

Note: 1. Starting and ending times of collection and total volume are required.

2. Follow instructions in “Urine Collection, 24-Hour” in Special Instructions.
