Includes direct and total bilirubin.
Useful for measurement of bilirubin in visibly jaundiced neonates.
Specimen Requirements
Submit only 1 of the following specimens:
Preferred:
Serum
Container/Tube: Amber MICROTAINER®
Specimen Volume: Full MICROTAINER® (minimum volume: 0.2 mL) of serum
Collection Instructions:
- Protect specimen from light.
- Spin down within 4 hours of draw.
- Label specimen appropriately (serum).
Alternate:
Plasma
Container/Tube: Lithium heparin MICROTAINER®
Specimen Volume: Full MICROTAINER® (minimum volume: 0.2 mL) of plasma
Collection Instructions:
- Protect specimen from light.
- Spin down within 4 hours of draw.
- Label specimen appropriately (plasma).
