Methodology
End-point Colorimetric (Dual Wavelength)
Useful for evaluation of liver and biliary disease. An increased direct bilirubin occurs in both intrahepatic and extrahepatic biliary tract obstruction.
Specimen Requirements
Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

Serum
Serum Gel Tube
Container/Tube: Serum gel tube(s)
Specimen Volume: 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of
serum
Collection Instructions:
- Protect specimen from light.
- Spin down within 4 hours of draw.
- Label specimen appropriately (serum).

Plain, red-top tube(s)
